Happy Birthday Clara!

March 6, 2016

Today our Clara is 2!! I can't believe it has been two whole years or that she hasn't been with us forever. Clara is a sweet, determined, energetic ball of sugar. She is learning and growing so fast! I am frequently hit with the desire to hit the pause button to at least slow this adorable phase that will be gone in a blink.

Clara's vocabulary is growing every day, along with her sentences. These are some of them. There are more, but these are my favorites.

Rorry (the newest addition to her vocabulary sounds incredibly like how Scooby Doo would say sorry. Aaaaadorable!)

Re Re (Henry)

Mama (Me)

G.G. (Her Grandma Ginger)

Mommy (Any other female family member that loves her)

Daddy! Daddy! (Daddy, but said with gusto more often than not.)

Bees (Please. But this is sounding more like a grown up please every day.)

Nanny (Candy. A very important word to her.)

Mimi (Minnie and Mickey Mouse)

Boo (Winnie the Pooh)

Die Die (Diaper)

I want _________ (she usually wants nanny. Sometimes water)

I need _________ (usually nanny)

Yeh Yo - Oranges

Me (How she asks you to sit down with her, while patting where she wants you to be)

Clara loves her family! Family days on weekends are her favorite thing. Every Monday, her heart gets broken anew when Daddy and Henry leave to return to work and school. Going to Grandmas while I am at work on Mondays is her only solace.

She still loves being outside. When she was tiny, almost any problem could be solved by stepping out the door. It's still the same. Winter has been a KILLER to this small outdoor human. Even if her mother is feeling generous enough to suit us both up to spend some time in the freezing cold, there's only so long before she's exhausted and cold. Now that spring is returning, she is outside every chance she gets.

Her favorite shows involve Minnie and Mickey Mouse (she LOVES Mimi!), Winnie the Pooh, Curious George, or Clifford. Also, Frozen Planet is a nap time favorite.

This little girl is supposed to wear glasses, but how do you teach a 1, almost 2 year old to wear glasses when it doesn't actually help them see better?
